Ease into the weekend as owner and award-winning pizzaiolo Luigi Esposito serves up everything from Suppli (Roman-style arancini), to Schiacciata co n’botto de Mortazza (crispy flat bread with mortadella) and his already iconic carbonara and porchetta pizzas, as you sip on free-flowing Aperol Spritzes, a selection of wines, beer and soft drinks for 90 minutes.

We ordered a gluten-free pizza but unfortunately received the wrong base.
Despite this mix-up, I’m still giving this pizza place a solid 5 stars due to their sincere apologies and genuine concern regarding the mistake.
Even though I have to stick to gluten-free bases, I can still recognize a great pizza when I taste one, and this pizza was absolutely amazing. It easily ranks as one of the best pizzas I’ve had, with toppings that were simply outstanding.
My lack of knowledge about Italian pizza was evident when I didn’t fully understand the various options on the menu, as I’m more accustomed to toppings like meatlovers and pepperoni. However, the staff were incredibly patient with me and took the time to explain the different options that would be closest to what I was looking for.

Fantastic!!! The pizza was amazing. We had the margarita. Thin crispy base loaded with flavour. The parmigiana el tegamino with the puffy bread was delicious. And so was the Panzanella salad.

Fantastic pizza and sides, had to wait for a table (for obvious reasons!) but it was worth the wait ☺️
Quattro formaggi was amazing. Thin pizza with fresh ingredients. The gamberi spaghetti was also great with delicious bite sized prawns. Service was very quick and the staff are very friendly. Wish I found this place sooner!!
Wanted a quick bite before an event at the nearby stadium, staff were accommodating and understood we had a tight schedule. Pizza was amazing and service efficient.

One of the best Roman style pizza you can find in Sydney. Also I recommend to try their tasty pasta and Antipasti. As an Italian I felt like going back to my home country
Delicious, well cooked and exquisite ingredients…. This is a must if you come across surry hills and love pizza! Highly recommended!
Perfectly satisfied my pasta and pizza cravings! Had the amatriciana and burrata pizza, both were delicious. All the waitors and waitresses were very personable and friendly as well!!!

Amazing food and exceptional service! We visited 170 Grammi Pizzeria and were very impressed by the quality and freshness of their dishes. The seafood pasta was a standout—perfectly cooked with fresh, flavourful seafood that was absolutely delicious. The margarita pizza was a classic done to perfection, with a beautifully crispy crust. The staff were attentive and friendly, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend!
One of the best pastas I have ever had!! Great service, lovely atmosphere and a very friendly owner. Like taking a quick trip to Italy. Will definitely visit when I’m back in Sydney!! We were very impressed with the quality of food and service here. We shared the smoked porchetta special to start, which was delicious (melt in the mouth meat and smokey crackling) and would have fed at least four people! The pizzas have a delicious thin crust with high quality toppings.

Ordered the cacio e pepe pizza. Transcendent experience. Legitimately one of the best pizzas we’ve ever had. The thin crust really allowed the delicate sauce to shine. Highly highly recommend
We came here for the Leave it to Luigi bottomless brunch and it was amazing. The food was absolutely incredible - I feel like we got our money's worth on the food alone. The service was also very good. We had one vegetarian and one gluten intolerance in our group and they catered very well :)

Super friendly atmosphere. We ordered ortelada pizza and the pasta special. The pasta was perfect; just one second after al dente😉 and the pizza was crispy and delicious, the tomato sauce was sweet and airy. We also ordered the tiramisu...it was light and slightly sweet just perfect. The staff were very nice and attentive, for sure a place to bring your friends and family.

We enjoyed the bottomless brunch and it was more than we anticipated. The food was amazing, the service was warm and friendly. And our glasses were never empty. Grazie! We will be back xx

Chanced upon this and decided to give it a go, food was lovely drinks were reasonably priced and the experience was enjoyable. Would definitely come back!
We dropped by in the late afternoon without reservation and got two seats at the bar. We had awesome food and great service . We had spaghetti with shrimp/calamari and ortolana pizza . We also had freshly made tiramisu for dessert. It's a bit pricey but worth it if you are looking for a high-quality italian roman restaurant.
The service and food here are the best. The staff are so happy and helpful, and of course speak Italian. The pizzas have the thinnest crust and taste fresh with so much flavour. The negroni sbagliato didn't do it for me, so would have a standard negroni next time. The tiramisu didn't deliver on expectations as well as the pizza did, it lacked flavour, but was still nice.

I love 170 Grammi, true Italian delicious food. The ingredients on the burrata pizza were incredible. Great atmosphere, the place was buzzing!
Great food will be back great service very friendly only thing is we ordered 2 pizza they took a while to come, maybe 40mins.. it's ok they were super tasty but why not stagger the delivery when you are busy? bring one out and then later bring the next, I been to various restaurants that are able to do this and it makes dining experience better, just a thought. Looking forward to my next visit.
Recently visited this restaurant and had a pasta, the guy with long hair in kitchen made that pasta really awesome and flavourful. Bestest Italian restaurant in the city.
My partner and I try to come to this restaurant every week. Each time we come, we leave with a big smile.
The food is one thing (delicious) but the service, particularly by the lady who is always welcoming people in, is top notch for a restaurant with such reasonable prices. No fuss, relaxed, and friendly.

Very attentive service and tasty pizzas!
Authentic pizza and antipasti with gracious hosts and attentive staff. Wait times on tables very reasonable for a walk-in on a Saturday night and very quick wait times for excellent food. Looking forward to coming back for more of the menu 😁
Excellent new addition to the Crown St strip. Just when you thought there were enough pizza joints, this one does a pretty good job. Menu limited but what’s more interesting is the variety of specials on offer. Worth trying out. And probably wise to book - especially game day!

170 grammi recently reopened after closing as pizza fritta. They've revamped their business model and menu and I am all for it. The suppli was bang on and took us back to Rome. I wonder what Romans would think of carbonara and porchetta on pizza but we find the flavours fun and creative. I liked the porchetta better personally but my partner adores carbonara and the flavour is all there. The pizza bases are thin but the toppings are generous. We're big eaters but struggled to finish a pizza each after the suppli. My partner still ordered cake though. The food was delicious, the wine was delicious, and the service was warm and friendly. We will be back

Loved this place. I was born and brought up in Rome- the pizzas here have truly authentic options, the base and ingredients are the real thing- as are the suppli'. Service was fantastic, genuine. Only thing I would say is that the "innovative" pizzas based on roman (normally pasta based combinations) were not for me: the Amatriciana, Porchetta, Cacio e Pepe pizzas are too rich and heavy. I would stick to the classic choices as the best bet: Capricciosa, Calabrese, Margherita, Napoletana. You won't go wrong.

We stopped here as we were passing by as we saw its recently open. The pizza was perfect! Well cooked and the pasta was incredible. Our lovely waitress was attentive and funny so overall we loved it!

I visited 170 Grammi to celebrate my friend's birthday. They celebrated her with sincere attention and even prepared a candle for the dessert. The staff also sang the birthday song, which made the occasion even more special.
The staff were lovely and friendly, and the food was amazing. They have a wide range of options on their special menu—definitely worth trying, especially the truffle suppli, which I highly recommend.
The pizzas were very thin, crispy, and fresh, though a little bit salty.

TBH thin crust pizzas aren’t usually my thing, but the ingredients really shine through when it comes to this style. Really liked the carbonara and the mortadella special, flavours married each other well and weren’t too rich even with the white cream base.

We had an incredible experience. From the moment we arrived, it felt like being in Italy. The waitstaff was energetic and friendly,guiding us through the menu.
Every dish we tried was exceptional, and even the drinks were very well-made. All of this at very reasonable prices.

Hands down, Sydney’s best pizza!
I was walking near Surry Hill and found this place to sit for one hours, enjoy my beer and pizza and some working in Sunday.
The chef is friendly and you can feel the love in this place like Italian Families.
This is a good place to sit with your friends and partner and chill.
They also serve coffee which makes it more interesting for me.
If you already near Surry Hill, I recommend to visit this place.
My pizza become soggy because of the steam from the hot Pizza, I recommend the change their serving method not to have this problem.
If they improve this part, I would happy to give this restaurant my ⭐️ rating, indicating worth traveling up to 60 minutes to visit.

Absolutely delicious Romano-style pizza! My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our pizza, which had amazing flavours. The crust was not your typical, puffy Napoli-style pizza (which we are big fans of as well) but rather a thin, crispy yet soft base which was simply amazing. We finished up with Maritozzi for desert, which are divine, cream-filled brioche buns and we definitely wanted more. We will be recommending 170 Grammi to friends and family for sure!

Came here with my family in a group of 13. Pizza was excellent and the staff were super nice (proper Romans). Also very accommodating with GF and vege options. Gave the kids colouring in books. Will definitely be coming back soon. Try the Maritozzi! Grazie Mille!
We had a table for 7 seated outside and was met with warm, friendly Italian hospitality. The pizzas were thin and light leaving you with more. We loved the carbonara and Calabrese pizzas as well as their cocktails. Staff were great. Will definitely come back again!!

Superb Italian food. The best I have had in a long time in Sydney and definitely the best in Surry Hills. The serving sizes are very generous. If you come here you MUST try their maritozzi. What a life changing dessert!
